AN ANZAC PRE-WAR GEM

The Morris Stood Apart from its Major Competitor, the Austin Seven, with it’s Larger, More Comfortable Cabin, Larger 918cc Engine (as Opposed to the ‘7’ at 747cc) and 8” Lockheed Four Wheel Hydrulic Drum Brakes.

The Six Light Sedan Body, with Forward Opening Doors allows Easy Cabin Entry and Exit, and for those Lovely Warm Days the Morris was Equipped with a Forward Opening Front Windscreen, allowing Extra Cabin Airflow. The Driver was also Given Full Instrumentation which included an Odometer within the Speedometer, an Oil Pressure Gauge, a Fuel Gauge and an Ammeter.

This Morris Eight Sedan was Sold New in New Zealand, Retaining a Copy of it’s Certificate of Registration Dated 12 Dec 1938, showing the Original, and Still Correct Chassis and Engine Numbers. Imported into Australia in 2012 the Morris left it’s homeland and found a New Home in Melbourne, where it has been Cherished Since.

A Lovely Example which has been Tastefully Restored and Maintained, the Interior Features Red Carpets, a Beige Headlining and Redish-Brown Leather Seats, showing an Appropriate level of Patina, Without any Signs of Rips, Tears or Deep Cracks.

The Morris Drives Exceptionally Well for it’s age, with the Smooth 4 Cylinder Engine and Cleanly Selecting Gearbox Providing Ample Period Performance, Capable of Superbly Easy, Local Driving.
