From its introduction in 1965, the Porsche 911 has benefited from a program of continuous development. The 997 model, launched in 2005 model year, answered the cries of the Porsche aficionados who were highly critical of the loss of the traditional elliptical headlights on the 996, the 997 looked like a real 911.

This 997 is a Targa in the desirable permanent all wheel drive, 4S Spec coupled with a 5 speed Triptronic S transmission. Instead of the standard 3.6 litre, 325 bhp Carrera engine, the S Spec gave the Targa the 3.8 litre, 355 bhp engine, the largest road version of the iconic flat 6 Porsche engine as the time. This power train is coupled with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability Management to enable the driver to safely engage some of the tremendous capability and handling on offer. The Targa features the optional Sports Chrono package providing a small uplift in performance.

This Hong Kong delivered Targa was delivered new by Porsche Centre Hong Kong on 29 June 2007 and has travelled a low ~60,000 km in its 18 years, imported to Australia in 2022. The Porsche presents in the striking colour combination of Nordic Gold metallic sitting on 19” Turbo style wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. The rear bodywork on the 4S Targa is 44mm wider than the base model Carrera.

The interior of this Targa 4S with its black perforated leather upholstery with body colour matching centre console is a lovely place to be with sound coming from the upgraded Porsche OEM Bluetooth entertainment system featuring a useful reverse camera and BOSE speakers. The electrically operated panoramic glass roof provides natural light and the climate control system keeping you at your perfect temperature while the programmable electric seats, satellite navigation and cruise control all help make this Targa a delightful car to drive. The glass rear hatch is easy to operate and provides useful storage space.
