The Mazda MX-5 made its debut in 1989, becoming the worlds most popular sportscar, with 37 years of production and over 1 million examples produced. The 1st generation NA MX-5 won numerous motoring accolades when released, featured 80s style pop-up headlights and continues to maintain the traditional British sportscar layout: 2-seat, front engine and rear wheel drive layout.

This MX-5 was delivered on 8.11.1997 by Brighton Mazda, who serviced the car until 2009, when it was sold to an owner in QLD who maintained the NA until 2025. Returning to Victoria in 2026, the roadster has recently been serviced by Ringwood Mazda at 40,089 km. This example has been used sparingly over its 29 year history and presents in excellent condition, in the iconic colour combination of Neo Green over Tan leather.

Fitted with the larger 1.8L DOHC 4 cylinder engine, the NA Roadster claimed to produce 99kW or 15% more power than the original 1.6L examples and displays amazing chassis balance with its ~990kg of weight and fully independent suspension.

Inside the analogue cockpit all controls are very easy to reach and the friction-less feel of the 5 speed gearbox is a delight. The manually operated vinyl roof is easy to operate, opening and closing in a few seconds providing cover if the weather turns sour. In addition, this NA is supplied with a factory, Black Hardtop with demister (inc stand).
