STUNNING HIGH PERFORMANCE CHROME BUMPER V8

An English Engineer and Racing Driver, Ken Costello, decided to create a performance car by fitting an all alloy Rover 3.5 litre V8 into the popular MGB GT. Ken started small scale production of V8 Converted MGB’s in 1970, some 2 years later, MG were able to convince British Leyland that MG should develop their own MGB GTV8. MG launched their MGB GTV8 in September of 1973 building just 2,591 when production ended July 1976.

When launched, the MGBGTV8 was the Fastest Production MG ever Built. Being launched in the middle of a fuel crisis did not help sales of the new “big engined” MGB GT, however, today they are Highly Sought After and no more so than in V8 loving Australia.

This Stunning Black MGB GTV8, one of the later chrome bumper cars, was restoration number 100 by Melbourne’s MG Workshops and completed to an Outstanding Level.

In the case of this GTV8, it has had many sensible Upgrades to make it a classic very suitable for the 2020’s. This GTV8 now fitted with a later Fuel Injected 4.2 litre Rover V8 which exhausts through Stainless Steel “block hugger” Extractors and a Large Bore Exhaust, cooled by a large Aluminium Radiator, running through a Modern T5 Gearbox, stopped by 4 Wheel disc brakes, the front being 4 pot calipers with ventilated discs and given Surefooted Handling with Telescopic Shock Absorbers all round, a large anti-roll bar up front and 15×7” Performance alloys with Dunlop Direzza 205/50R 15 tyres all round.

With a Well Presented Interior and the Additional Luxury of a Webasto style Sun Roof, this is an MG that you will want to just get in, Drive and really Enjoy.
