Mercedes Benz slogan The Best or Nothing was never more apt than when the W126 range was launched in September 1979 and considered at the time to be the Best Car in the World. A Giant Leap Forward over the outgoing W116, it was Innovative, Safer and Lighter, fulfilling the Mercedes Benz goals of Safety and Economy while being highly Technologically Advanced.

The W126 range stayed in production for 12 years until October 1991 with some Commentators suggesting that it was the Last True Mercedes. The 300SE was released with the W126 facelift in 1985 and was very much appreciated by the Luxury Car Market with so many new Features and Options available, it was the Most Successful model in the W126 range, produced until the W126 was replaced by the new W140 in 1991.

This 1991 300SE, built in the Last Year of production, has a Long Equipment List, including ABS, Driver’s Side Airbag, Cruise Control, Automatic Climate Control, Self-Levelling Suspension, Electrically Adjustable Front Seats (Driver-side with Memory), Electric Sliding and Tilting Sunroof and was a true luxury car of the period in every sense. The SE W126 is more Compact than the SEL (long wheelbase) version by 140mm, making it a Lighter and more Manoeuverable Benz to drive.
