The Porsche 911, arguably one of the world’s most iconic cars, was introduced in 1964, replacing the 356 yet retaining the Rear Engine, Rear Drive layout of the 356 but the Engine gaining an additional 2 cylinders. This new 6 cylinder engine had an Overhead Camshaft and started out as 2 litres and by 1984 this had grown to 3.2 litres with 231 BHP that was Only available in Australia up until 1985.

From its introduction in 1965, the Porsche 911 has benefited from a Program of Continuous Development with 1974 seeing the first major change to the look of the 911 with the introduction of the “G” Series and its Federal style bumpers. In 1982 Porsche launched a full Cabriolet version of the “G” Series 911, the First full Cabriolet since the 356, the new Cabriolet lost little if any Chassis Rigidity compared to the Targa.
