VICTORIA’s No 1 OMA’s PLATINUM PORSCHE

Introduced in 1977 (as a ’78 model year) after it’s Debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Wolfgang Möbius Styled 928 was Intended to Replace the 911 and Take the Mantle of Porsche’s Flagship Model, However Proposed Regulations Never Eventuated, Allowing the 911 to Maintain Both it’s Production and it’s Position.

Sold New through Hamiltons of South Yarra, this Platinum Metallic 928S was Factory Rated at 310hp, a Figure that was Not Matched, Nor Beaten in Australia till 1989 as the Introduction of Unleaded Fuels in Australia Resulted in a Lower Compression Variant being Sold to the Australian Market.

Not only were the 1984 928S’s More Powerful than the Other Pre ’89 Models, but they were also the First Year to be Fitted with the Hugely Improved 4 Speed Automatic, Replacing the Original 3 Speed Unit, which had Severely Hampered the Performance and Driving Experience of the Earlier Examples.

Owned Since the 21st of May 1998 by Victoria’s ‘Number 1 Oma’, this 928S has Lived a Lovely Rural Lifestyle for the Last 23 Years, Enjoying the Surrounds of Hills, Valleys and Orchards/Vineyards of the Yarra Valley, over which time the Porsche Travelled some 156,000 Country Kilometres.
