MELBOURNE DELIVERED – 3 OWNER BETA COUPE

Reintroducing Lancia’s Prewar Greek Alphabet model coding, the Beta was Lancia’s first new design after FIAT’s Acquisition in 1969. Utilising FIAT’s Lampredi Twin Cam Inline 4 Cylinder, with bespoke Lancia designed cylinder heads, improving flow, as well as changes to the inlet and exhaust manifolds, all together resulting in more power and torque.

Sold new by ‘Robert Lane Motors’ of East Brighton on the 29th of September 1983 to Dimitri Xenos of Balaclava this Rosso Corsa Coupe was fitted with optional ZF Power Steering, Fiamm Air Horns and Cromodora 14×5½” Factory Alloy Wheels.

Sold for the second time on the 14th of April 1993, the Lancia was purchased by, Alfredo Costanzo, of ‘Alf Costanzo Motors’ and the former winner of the Australian Driver’s Championship – in 1980/81/82/83 driving for Porsche Cars Australia, first in a Lola, then a McLaren followed by a Tiga.

Alf retained the Beta Coupe until 2011, at which time it was purchased as the starter of a Car Collection where it remained until December 2020. Being part of this Collection has spared the Lancia from the ravages of everyday use. During this time the Beta Coupe was treated to a repaint to freshen it up. The Interior appears to be Original and in Good Condition for its age. The Twin Cam Engine and Five Speed Gearbox package provides Good Period Performance to match the Handling and Roadholding for which Italian Sporting Coupes are renowned.
