LAST OF THE TRUE STATESMAN – CORTEZ RED

Produced between 1971 and 1984, as a Prestige Vehicle to Compete with the already successful Ford Fairlane and later the Ford LTD, the Statesman Did Not Use any Holden Branding in vehicle Badging or Advertising, Proving it’s Distinction and Status in the GM Family, Set Apart and Above from the Run Of The Mill Holdens.

Produced between 1980 and 1984 the WB Statesman would be the Last True Statesman, with the name reintroduced in 1990 with the VQ Series ‘Holden Statesman’. During this period 13,927 Examples were Produced, Split between 9,719 De Villes and 4,208 Range Topping Caprices. With the HZ Ceasing Production in 1979, the WB Statesman was also the Last Full Size Sedan, that Holden would Produce Until the Third Generation Commodore in 1997.

The Statesman had a Wheelbase some 3inches Longer than the HZ Sedan on which it was Previously Based, with the Additional Space Provided Behind the Rear Door, Allowing Significantly More Rear Legroom, Whilst the 6 Light Body Produces an Extra Feel of Spaciousness and Brightness within the Cabin.

This WB Statesman Caprice, Finished in Cortez Red was Sold New by United Motors, Freeman Motors Group in Mile End, SA on the 13th November 1981, Verified by it’s Original Owners Handbook, also Showing 80’s and early 90’s Servicing. Now Presenting with an Odometer Reading of Just 107,356 km, the Caprice has been Preserved Superbly, with the Buckskin Velour and Vinyl Interior Trim Complete and in Pristine Condition.
