After it’s introduction in 1968 the ‘Plus 8’ Morgan stayed in production until 2004, in this time it saw 6 engine variations, 5 fuel systems and 4 different gearboxes. Those built between 1977 and 1981 are said to be the highest specification of the originals, with their twin SU carburettors, the 9.35:1 compression 3.5L V8 and the all-synchro 5 speed manual gearbox.

This ‘Plus 8’ features lightweight aluminium, including the rear shroud and the front & rear bumper bars, all on top of a galvanised chassis with a hardwood frame. The bodywork has been finished in a lovely shade of Burgundy, with a Black leather interior, providing a superb contrast. The interior also features a Burr Walnut dashboard with complimentary Moto-Lita wood rimmed steering wheel.

This Plus 8 was imported from England to Australia in 2004 when the odometer reading was around 84500 miles. A comprehensive Australian restoration, with supporting photo portfolio, commenced in 2006 which included a bare metal re-spray and replacement of required hardwood. To meet Australian Compliance requirements a roll-bar, side intrusion bars, a set of head restraints and correct seat belts were fitted.

The weather equipment is complete and in near-new condition, including a Black vinyl tonneau cover, Black Everflex soft top, Black soft top cover and Black sliding perspex side curtains, allowing you to enjoy the Plus 8 no matter the weather. Mechanically the ‘Plus 8’ is very healthy, with upgrades including an extractor exhaust system, electronic ignition, a thermatic fan and a set of Marchal 880 driving lamps.

This Moggie, in excellent condition, has been looked after and used sparingly by its two Australian owners, with current total miles showing ~94,900, giving you an opportunity to become the next custodian to enjoy the period craftsmanship and classic experience that Morgans are renowned for.
