This Australian Built RS2000 4 Door is One of Only 2400 RS2000’s Built (Including Both 2 & 4 Door Bodies) at Ford Australia’s Homebush Plant. The Four Door Mk2 RS2000 is a Unique Australian Only Variant, with the RS2000 MK2 Escort Otherwise Produced Solely in the 2 Door Body, Despite Production having Taken Place in 8 Different Countries.

Originally Fitted with a Standard 2 Litre Pinto Engine, Unlike the Up Spec’ed European Version, this Aussie Escort is now Fitted with a Very Much Improved Example. The Performance Improvements Under Taken Include: Fitment of Twin Weber 48IDF Downdraught Carburetors, an Extractor Exhaust System, Scorcher Electronic Ignition, a Clive Cams Cortina 2000 #0713 Profile Camshaft and a Full Engine (Block & Head) Rebuild by Speedworks, Including: Custom Forged Pistons, H-Beam Rods, a Balance of Full Assembly and all New Engine Bearings resulting in a 10.9:1 Compression Ratio.

To Support the Increased Output the RS2000 has Also been Fitted with a T9 Gearbox (5 Speed Ford Sierra), Uprated (Volvo ATE) 4 Pot Callipers & Ventilated Discs (Ford TX3) Front Brakes, a Quaife ATB Limited Slip Differential and a K-Mac Front Sway Bar & Camber/Caster Stage 3 Kit.

Fitted with Period Correct, Non-Original Recaro LSA Scripted Front Seats, with Iconic Net Headrests, as well as a Black, Leather Bound 4 Spoke Sports Steering Wheel this Escort Looks the Part, and Performs Far Better than New.
