The MGB is the iconic British Sports car. Launched in 1962, the MGB was a big step forward from the pretty MGA, it featured a monocoque body with modern equipment such as door handles and wind-up windows, it was also spacious inside and had far better luggage capacity. The MGB was a great success from the start and was in production until 1980 with over half a million built and over 400,000 of these going to the important North American market.

For the last year of production MG built a Limited Edition model for the North American market with a total of 6,682 MGB LEs making their way across the Atlantic. The LE was only available in Black coachwork with the special standard equipment including Limited Edition silver body stripes, GKN 14″ 5 spoke alloy wheels, front air dam spoiler, toneau cover, chrome luggage rack, leather padded 3 spoke steering wheel, Limited Edition dash plaque and Limited Edition door sills.

This 1979 MGB LE presents well in its gleaming black paint, set off by the Silver LE Body Stripes and the 5 Spoke Alloy Wheels. The interior is finished in complimentary black vinyl, the seats featuring red and black velour inserts, there is a Saas Wood-rim steering wheel, the black vinyl hood has a zip out rear window that can be very handy if you want a bit more wind in your hair without folding down the roof, when the roof is folded, there is a black vinyl hood cover to give a tidy appearance.

This MGB was converted to Right Hand Drive, a very straight forward job on an MGB and drives well with a Weber carburettor and alloy head.
