This 1978 Jaguar XJS was UK delivered and remained there with its first owner for the first year before emigrating to Perth WA. It was subsequently purchased by a woman from Port Lincoln SA who retained the XJS until 1988. The third owner, who ultimately owned the car for 30 years then began a transformation of the car, stripping the car down, and sandblasting it before changing its original finish from Red to a Porsche Black.

A Significant Invoice File details Expenditure of approximately $40,000 over many years for both maintenance and service as well as upgrades. The cost of the repaint is not included in that figure. A large amount of these works were carried out by a number of very well known Jaguar Specialists such as V&A Spiteri P/L, Mike Roddy Jaguar P/L, and Waverley Jaguar Service P/L.

Some of the Upgrades include Cylinder Head Porting and Polishing, Performance Camshafts, Extractor Exhaust System, ‘FAST’ XR300 Electronic Ignition, Lightweight Aluminium Flywheel, 5 Speed Getrag Gearbox, Cold Air Intakes, Improved Brakes Front & Rear and Firmer Front & Rear Springs. All of these upgrades were carried out to Improve the Performance and Transform it from a lazy Luxury Coupe to a much More Sporting Version of itself. The improvement in performance is certainly noticeable.

The Smooth Power Delivery from the Improved Engine package and 5 Speed Getrag Gearbox provide Good Performance throughout the range as well as Excellent Low Speed Flexibility. The Upgraded Brakes Front and Rear provide Impressive and Reliable Stopping Power. The XJS sits well on the road with the Broad Track and Wider Wheels and Tyres giving Above Average Roadholding for a car its size.
