PLATINUM GILDED PORSCHE

The Porsche 911 debuted at the Stuttgart Motor Show in 1963 being a replacement for the 356. With its new 2 litre flat six engine developing about 130 HP the first 911’s gave excellent period performance. With the flat six engine progressively evolving through 2.2 litre, 2.4 litre and 2.7 litre variations, the power output also grew, evolving up to the 3.0 litre engines Debuting in the Original 911 Turbo (930).

The Carrera 3.0 released in 1976 was given the same Diecast Aluminium Crankcase as the Original 930. With its 3-litre engine and K-Jetronic Fuel Injection the power output was slightly down on the previous Carrera 2.7 at 200 bhp although the 188 lb/ft of torque was now available at 4200 rpm. During the two-year life span of the Carrera 3.0, Only 3687 cars were built. Of these 2564 were Coupés and 1123 Targas.

This beautifully presented 911 was sold by Scuderia Veloce P/L in Sydney on 9th March 1976. The Stunning Platinum Metallic exterior is complimented by the original style interior, the Dark Blue seats with Optional ”Black/Green/Blue Tartan” cloth inserts. The only non standard interior item is a Recently fitted Porsche Classic Communication Management System (PCCM) with a Pair of Door Mounted Speakers. The PCCM system features a Touch Screen, Blue Tooth Hands Free Phone Connectivity, Integrated GPS Navigation, DAB+ Dual Tuner, AM/FM Dual Tuner, and an MP3 Player.

Service records up to 1996 indicate that 911 had at that stage covered approximately 200,000km. At a time unknown, this 911 underwent a transmission change from its original Sportomatic to 5 Speed Manual Transmission. In March 2017 with the odometer reading 223,628km the engine and transmission were removed with the Engine Subsequently Undergoing a Comprehensive Top-End Overhaul by a Porsche Specialist, Resulting in an Invoice Cost of just under $12,000, since the Overhaul the 911 has travelled just 5485km. Recent Mechanical Upgrades include the fitting of Koni Sport Adjustable Rear Shocks and Koni Sport Front Strut Cartridges.
