210BHP 911/83 RS-SPEC MECHANICAL FUEL INJECTION

With the 1974 Introduction of the G-Series 911 featuring 5mph Safety Bumpers a New Era of 911 was Started, with the Iconic Silhouette Lasting for 15 years! Road-going 911’s Available in Three Distinct Specifications, the Base 911 replacing the 911T, the 911S replacing the 911E and the Top Spec Carrera replacing the 911 RS Touring.

The 2.7L Carrera Featured the 911/83 RS-Spec Mechanical Fuel Injection Flat Six first seen in the Legendary 1973 911 Carrera RS and RSR, Producing 210bhp, However Due to Strict Emission Control Standards it was Not Offered in the US Market, Resulting in the US Market Carrera’s being Fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic, Continuous Injection System (CIS) Fuel Injection and Only Managing 175bhp.

Due to the Limited Market, Only 1,633 2.7 MFI Carrera Coupes were Built between 1974 and 1976 (as well as an additional 631 2.7 MFI Carrera Targas) making the 2.7MFI Carrera Coupe on Near Rarity Parity with the 1973 Carrera 2.7 RS, of which it Shared it’s Mechanical Package, with 1,590 Built!

This Viper Green Carrera MFI was a Home Market (German) Delivered Example, that is said to have been Delivered New to a USA Army Doctor Stationed in Germany, who Subsequently Imported the Porsche back to the USA with him on His Return, Allowing him the Opportunity to Side Step the Emission Controlled US Examples.

Imported into Australia in 2007 this MFI Carrera No Longer Retains it’s Original Magnesium Crank Case, However the Engine has been Freshly Rebuilt by Weissach Sport of North Coburg, with the Final Engine Invoice Dated the 20th of April 2022.
