RWD 1275cc A-SERIES

With origins in the humble 948cc Austin Healey Sprite, the MG Midget proved itself to be one of the best examples of “Badge Engineering”. The up market Midget benefited from a luxury trim package in comparison to the Sprite.

This tidy Red Australian MkIII Midget presents well and is a very capable driver. The interior features a Smiths heater, period correct wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, inertia seat-belts, and modern Alpine stereo whilst the Black seats with Red piping compliment the Red paintwork as does the matching Black soft-top which is in very nice condition. Driving lights and H4 headlamps have also been fitted.

The 1275cc inline 4-cylinder engine, 4 Speed gearbox and lightweight construction combine to make a real performance package with very nimble handling. The rack and pinion steering is both light and precise giving excellent feedback to the driver which makes for a confidence inspiring driving experience.

The Midget has some sensible mechanical upgrades including a downdraft Weber carburettor and extractor exhaust system, alloy radiator, thermatic fan, electronic ignition, alloy rocker cover, battery isolator and for peace of mind the fitment of a Brake Booster.

If you enjoy real driving and being in touch with your car, the road and the surroundings, then driving a Midget is definitely for you. Ideal for a weekend or mid-week exhilarating drive through the hills or a casual trip to the wineries.
