The 60’s was the golden age of American muscle cars with the “Baby Boomer” buyers cashed up and looking for performance and style. The Ford Mustang introduced in 1964 was always aimed at the youth market but by 1970 was probably at its peak.

The 1970 Mach 1 Mustangs featured a V8-powered SportsRoof (Fastback) body and added visual and performance upgrades such as a matte black hood treatment with hood pins, hood scoop (including the optional Shaker scoop), competition suspension, chrome pop-open Petrol Cap, Argent wheels, chrome exhaust tips, a deluxe interior, optional chin spoiler, rear deck spoiler, and rear window louvers knows as SportSlats.

The Marti report on this 1970 Mustang MACH 1 SportsRoof states that it was built on the 12th December 1969, as a 1970 model and was delivered new to Woodruff, South Carolina finished in White with a black hood stripe, a 2V 351 Cleveland, an FMX Select Shift Automatic, Power Steering and Argent Styled Wheels, this would have been its new owners Pride and Joy back in the day.

This Recently converted (November 2019), Right Hand Drive Mustang has travelled almost 30,000km in RHD, providing peace of mind that the conversion has had a true and proper shake down and is in Great Condition, with a few Sensible Upgrades, the 351 now sports a 4 barrel Autolite Carburettor under a Shaker Hood Scoop to give a little more “get up and go”, while the black interior has the addition of a sensational Vintage Air, Air Conditioning system (added during the RHD Conversion) to make the interior of this Mach 1 a very comfortable place to be summer or winter.
