This Australian Built Cortina Mk2 240 is the Top Mechanical Specification 2 Door Cortina Offered in 1969, Featuring the 1600cc ‘Kent’ CrossFlow Engine, a Four Speed Floor Shift Gearbox and Bucket Seats. The Cortina’s Crossflow Engine Proved to be a Superbly Strong and Reliable Basis for Performance Modification, with the now 50 Year Old Engine still Seeing Use in Motor Racing with the Open Wheeler ‘Formula Ford 1600’ Class.

This Mk2 has been Subject to a Number of Upgrades, with New GAZ Adjustable Height Front Struts and Springs with Gas Shock Absorbers, Lowered Rear Suspension and Polyurethane Front Sway Bar Bushes, while the Engine has been Fitted with a Cortina GT type Weber Downdraught Carburettor with RamFlo Filter as well as Extractors and a 2 inch Stainless Steel Exhaust.

Sitting Low and Lean on its RS2000 Inspired 7 x 13 inch JBW RS4 Wheels, the Solid and Rust Free Bodywork Presents Incredibly Well. The Interior has Previously been Retrimmed in a Combination of Grey Cloth and Vinyl, However the Most Recent Owner Decided that Red was a More Fitting Colour, and as such had the Door Cards Retrimmed, but Never had the Chance to Attend to the Seats.

The Dash Looks Smart with a Classic, Period Style Chrome Cased Smiths Tacho Mounted to the Lower Left of the Cortina GT Leather Bound Steering Wheel, whilst 3 Extra Smiths Gauges for Water Temp, Oil Pressure and Ammeter are Mounted in a Separate Under Dash Panel.
