AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PRECURSOR TO THE 3.0CSL

The 2000C & CS were Launched in 1965 as the Coupe Variation of the ‘Neue Klasse’ Range, Penned by BMW’s Chief Stylist Wilhelm Hofmeister. While the Design was In-House, BMW Outsourced the Construction of the CS to Karmann in Osnabrück, and once the Bodies were Complete they were Transported to Munich for Final Assembly.

A Total of 9,999 2000CS’s were Produced Between 1965 and 1969, All of which were Left Hand Drive (LHD), as such the BMW Concessionaires at Portslade England Converted Just 148 2000CS’s to Right Hand Drive, with the use of Factory Components & New, British Built Wooden Dashboards.

The ‘Neue Klasse’ Coupes were the First BMW’s to be Fitted with the New 2L (1990cc) M10 Engine, which would Later see Fame, in the Same 119hp Specification Fitted to the BMW 2002ti.

This Lovely RHD 2000CS Presents Honestly, with Older Outer-Body Repairs, and Very Sound Internal Structures. The Polaris Silver Bodywork is Contrasted by the Dark Blue Interior Trim, Finished by the RHD Specific British Wooden Dash & Door Trims, all of which are in Superb Unrestored Condition.

A Healthy Performer with Recent Suspension and Brake Work, this 2000CS is a Joy to Drive, with it’s 4 Speed Manual Gearbox Smooth & Direct, and 4 Wheel Independent Suspension with Coil Springs All Around Providing Ample Roadholding.
