Triumph’s TR5 had a Very Short Production Life of Only 13 Months, Between August 1967 and September 1968, Resulting in a Total Production of Only 2947 Units, Powered by a 2.5 Litre Straight Six Cylinder Engine Fitted with Lucas Mechanical Fuel Injection, Producing 150 BHP. A Detuned, Lower Emission Version, Fitted with Zenith/Stromberg Carburettors Producing 111BHP was Marketed Solely in the US as the TR250.

Presenting in Superb Condition, the Care and Attention that has been Involved in the TR5’s Improvements, Maintenance and Restoration Shows Strongly. The Lovely Factory Correct Signal Red Bodywork is well Complemented by both the 15” Minator Alloy Wheels and the Bright Chrome-Work.

The Interior is Finished to a Very High Standard, in a Combination of Black Trim with White Piped Black Seats Contrasting the ‘Oh So British’ Wooden Dash and Steering Wheel. The Weather Equipment Consists of a Surrey Soft Top Including a Removable Black Backlight Assembly and a Vinyl Centre Roof Section.

The Original 2.5L Straight Six has been Removed from the Triumph (which Will Be Provided Within the Sale) to Make Way for another Triumph 2.5 Litre Block, Bored to 2.7 Litres, that has Been Subject to a Number of Modifications which Both Improve the Performance and Drivability.

The Lucas Mechanical Fuel Injection Throttle Bodies have been Adapted to Suit Electronic Fuel Injection, whilst the Distributor has also been Replaced with a Multi-Coil pack system, all Controlled by a Wolf 3D Programmable Engine Management System, while Additions such as High Ratio Roller Rockers, a Performance Baffled Sump and an Oil Cooler have all been Fitted Offering Significant Advantages in Both Performance, Reliability and Fuel Economy.
