RESTORED, WELL SORTED AND READY FOR TOURING

A long term project, finally finished after nearly 26 years, this superb 3000 MkIII is now ready to delight with its reintroduction to the open road.

This Phase III (twin big light) BJ8, rolled off the production line on the 19th of April 1967 and represents the final evolution of the Austin Healey marque, featuring the highest mechanical & luxury specification produced.

Sold new in San Francisco, California, the Healey was later imported out of San Jose California by The Healey Factory as a restoration candidate, with Import Approval granted on the 18th of December 1996.

Sold to a Victorian enthusiast, this 3000 MkIII was then given back to The Healey Factory for a comprehensive total restoration. Finished in the spectacular, and market’s favourite colour of ‘Healey Blue’, with radiant brightwork including 72-spoke chrome wire wheels and a contrasting, newly trimmed blue leather, heat insulated interior with the stunning, ‘BJ8 only’ burr walnut dash and a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel.

Mechanically the BJ8 benefits from a complete engine rebuild, now uprated to 3.2L, with balanced and blueprinted rods, pistons and crank, lightened flywheel and reconditioned cylinder head, all helping it perform with strong, reliable performance & power. The gearbox (with optional overdrive) received new syncros, bearings and seals. Other improvements include a spin on oil filter conversion, Scorcher electronic ignition, alternator, conversion, Hi-Torque starter motor, cable throttle conversion brake booster, and Texas Kooler fan. Suspension has been improved with Konis installed front and back and the brakes have been uprated.

Restored, 2026 ‘Road & Show Class’ Winner and finished to an extremely high standard, this ‘Brand New’ BJ8 is ready to make up for lost time, waiting for the next custodian to take it touring on the wide open road.
