The 3000 Mk III (BJ8) Phase III is the Final Evolution of the “Big Healey” range, with their Styling still based on the on Gerry Coker’s Healey 100 silhouette from 1952. Over 14 years the Interior Trim Materials, Cockpit Fittings and Weather Equipment Improved to meet growing Market Expectations. The power output of the MkIII’s 3 litre 6 cylinder engine was rated at 150 BHP, making it the Most Powerful Production Model Austin Healey produced, to match the Improved Performance the BJ8s were fitted with Vacuum Servo Assistance to the Front Disc Brakes.

Completed on the 7th of February 1967, this Original Colorado Red Phase III BJ8 was Dispatched to the United States just a month later. Ordered new with both a Black Hood and Trim, then optioned with Wire Wheels, a Smith Heater, Adjustable Steering Column, White-Wall Tyres, a Laminated Windscreen and Overdrive.

Imported into Australia in 2011, the BJ8 was subject to a Right Hand Drive Conversion, a Bolt Off – Bolt On Conversion Including a New Steering Box Assembly and Walnut Dash, all Made Easy Due to the Factory’s Tolerance for Every Body Built to be Either LHD or RHD with all Holes Pre-Drilled and Captive Nuts Pre-fitted.

Offered For Sale in it’s Original Combination of Colorado Red with Black Trim (Including New Weather Equipment), now Fitted with 72 Spoke Dayton Chrome Wire Wheels and a 15” Motolita Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel this ’67 BJ8 looks the part. With only the Upgrade to Both a Spin On Oil Filter and a Scorcher Electronic Distributor the Open British Tourer Performs in True to it’s Heritage, without changing it’s Original Nature.
