A BJ8 WITH EXTRA STYLE & PERFORMANCE

The 3000 MkIII (BJ8) is the Final Evolution of the “Big Healey” Range, with their Enduring Style a Testament to Donald Healey’s Vision, as the Silhouette of the Model Changed Very Little from the Original Austin Healey 100 of 1952.

Over 15 years the Interior Trim Level, Cockpit Fittings and Weather Equipment Improved to meet Growing Market Expectations. The Power Output of the MkIII’s 6 Cylinder Engine was Rated at 150 BHP, making it the Most Powerful of the Entire Range. To Match the Performance it was Fitted with the Largest Disc Brakes in the Healey Range.

This Colorado Red/White BJ8 is a Very Tidy Example, with the Interior having been Retrimmed in Classic Black. Standard Equipment such as Wind-Up Windows, an Adjustable Steering Column, ‘One-Touch’ Quality Fabric Convertible Hood with a Zip Out Rear Window and an Original Smiths Heater make this BJ8 an Ideal Classic to be Enjoyed All Year Round.

Non-Standard Styling Features are, the 72 Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels, the Rally Vented Front Guards, Lucas Driving Lights, Alloy Flip-Top Fuel Filler Cap and Over-rider Only Rear Bumpers.

This BJ8 has had some Significant Mechanical Improvements to Enhance the Performance even Further. The Engine has been Fitted with a DMD Alloy Cylinder Head, DMD 2” SU Alloy Inlet Manifolds, Ceramic Coated Extractor Exhaust, a DMD Cable Throttle Conversion and a Hi Torque Starter Motor.

This 3000 MkIII has the Classic Big Healey Feel, with its Very Much Improved Lusty 3 Litre 6 Cylinder Engine, Coupled to the 4 Speed Gearbox with Overdrive Providing Very Spirited Performance as well as Effortless Long Legged Cruising.
