THE BEST FOR LAST

Introduced in April of 1965, the Phase III BJ8 (3000 MkIII) was to be the Very Last Variation Produced by Austin Healey, after their Introduction in May of 1953. Preceded by 13 earlier Austin Healey’s, the Phase III was the Culmination of All that the Small Firm had Learned and Developed. Benefiting from, Wind-Up Windows, a One-Touch Hood, Revised Chassis Design, Larger Brakes, Larger Carburettors, Stronger Power Ratings and an Extra Level of Luxury, including a Burr Walnut Dash.

Presenting in Period Correct, Sage Green Metallic, Complemented by Both the Bright Chrome-work as well as the Biscuit Leather Interior Trim, this BJ8 is sure to Impress. Subject to a High Quality Restoration, the Finish of this Healey Holds up Exceedingly Well, and other than Colour Choices, a Lecarra Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel and a Side Exit Exhaust, was Rebuilt True to Original Phase III Specification.

Retaining the Original Driveline Including the Optional 4 Speed Manual Overdrive Gearbox, Mated to the 2912cc 6 Cylinder Austin Engine, with Original Exhaust Manifold, Generator, Starter Motor, Radiator and Twin 2” SU Carburettors, All Together Rated at 150hp from New, this Healey has the Power, Torque and Gearing to enjoy both on Long Drives and Spirited Sprints.

The Most Desirable of All the Austin Healey 6 Cylinder Models, the Phase III BJ8 Earned the Title due not to it’s Rarity, but it’s Specification, Style, Level of Luxury and Outright Performance Characteristics. After more than 50 years, the BJ8 is still an Extremely Capable Road Car, Capable and Reliable Enough to be used Both Everyday, and for Interstate Travel/Rallies, a True British Workhorse.
