The Sunbeam Tiger Evolved from the Very Successful and Stylish Sunbeam Alpine and was Developed with the aid of Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby of Shelby Cobra fame. Some consider the Sunbeam Tiger to be a “baby” Cobra.

The Mk1 Tiger was launched in 1964 with a 260ci Ford V8 engine. Rather than being built by Carroll Shelby’s team, it was built by Jensen in West Bromwich, England. This Tiger is a 1965 model, an Original Right Hand Drive example that was Delivered New in the UK where it Resided for less than 5 years before being First Registered in Australia in January 1970. For the past 52 years this Tiger has been a firm Australian resident. It Was Restored some years ago, including a full Repaint in it’s original colour of Quartz Blue with the Tiger Tail striping. A thick, Accompanying History File Contains many Receipts and other Valuable Technical Information.

This Mk1 Tiger is Refreshingly Original in most aspects. The Engine has been Upgraded to a Date Correct Windsor 289ci V8. The main other modifications are some Sensible Upgrades to the Induction and Exhaust systems. The Induction side is Fed by a 600cfm Holley Carburettor on an Edelbrock Performer 4 Barrel Manifold whilst the Exhaust is handled by Performance Extractors and Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust System. The 4 speed Top Loader Gearbox allows Easy Selection of the Right Gear for any occasion and The Rack and Pinion Steering is both Light and Precise. The Rear Suspension has been complimented with the addition of Traction Bars to ensure that this Tiger Accelerates Smoothly.

This Well Balanced Combination of originality with a few sensible Improvements Inspires Confidence, Leaving You eager to jump in the driver’s seat. The Tiger is Equally at Home in the Suburbs or on the Highway or Enjoying a Twisty Road Through the Hills.
