GOLD STANDARD – ORIGINAL CARMEN RED & RHD

Introduced in October of 1964 the Updated Series I, 4.2 E-Type Succeeded the Original 3.8, with it’s Enlarged Capacity (3781cc – 4236cc) the New E-Type Gained 23 lb.ft of Torque, had Improved Cooling & Inlet Manifolds, Marked the Move to the use of an Alternator, Negative Earth, a Vacuum Brake Booster, More Luxurious and Comfortable Seats, and Importantly the Full Synchro 4 Speed Gearbox.

Dispatched on the 26th of March 1965, this Numbers Matching (Including Cylinder Head) Right Hand Drive, 4.2 Litre Series I Fixed Head Coupe was Finished in Carmen Red with Black Trim.

Purchased in 2015, as a Sound and Tidy E-Type in need of some TLC, the Jaguar was Sent Straight to the Restoration Department of The Healey Factory to be Restored to it’s Former Glory.

The Interior was Stripped Completely, the Body was Media Blasted and Any Imperfections in the Body were Repaired, this Included the Fitment of New Sills, both Left & Right. The Bodywork was then Prepared and Repainted in Original Carmen Red including the Engine Bay. The Trim-Work was Carried Out by ‘Sports & Specialist Trimming’ of Richmond, Including the Leather Seats, All New Carpets, Headlining, Rear Hatch and all Side Trims.

The Only Deviation From Standard was to Fit 3.8 Litre Series I Embossed Aluminium Trims to the Centre Console, even so with the Level of Workmanship and Originality the E-Type was Awarded Gold at the 2017 Jaguar Car Club Victoria Concours D’Elegance.
