IMPRESSIVE 347 CUBIC INCH PONY CAR

In September 1962 Lee Iacocca Tasked the Ford Design Teams to Develop a New “Small Car” with the Following Goals: It would Seat Four, have Bucket Seats and a Floor Mounted Shifter, Weigh No More than 2,500 lbs and be No More than 180” in Length, Sell for Less Than $2,500, and have Multiple Power, Comfort, and Luxury Options. The Pony Car was Born!

This Mustang was built in the San Jose plant, with Build Code 65B signifying a Coupe with Luxury Interior featuring Bucket seats with Pony trim in Red and White which contrasts beautifully with the high lustre Wimbledon White (now with Pearl) duco.

Gaining import approval from its native California in September 1996, the Mustang was purchased by a West Australian through ‘Fast Lane Parts’ of Mandurah WA. The thick invoice history file supplied with the Ford documents from late 1996 onwards, spanning nearly 30 years! A spreadsheet in the file shows in excess of $90,000 of spending from October 2006 to December 2017!

The stunning interior, in contrasting Red and White Pony Trim is complimented with a full length console and the preferred ‘66 instrument cluster (the original unit is supplied with the Mustang).

The base 289ci Windsor V8 has been upgraded to a significantly more powerful 347 cubic inch capacity (bore & stroke), featuring ‘AFR Renegade’ alloy heads (58cc), a 750 CFM 4 Barrel ‘Holley Double Pumper’ carburettor and ‘Pacemaker’ extractors & a ‘Magnaflow’ exhaust, all together delivering the immense power to the rear wheels by the 3 speed Cruise-o-matic Transmission. For ease of driving and reliability the Mustang is fitted with power steering, ‘Ignitor II’ electronic ignition and power boosted brakes, including ventilated front discs.

Really well presented in the Mustang’s Notchback body style and capable of reliable and trouble free cruising, comfortably carrying 4 all year around, this Mustang will transport you and your friends/family on your adventures in comfort and ease while drawing envy from onlookers.
