The Anglia’s Styling was a Radical Departure from the Previous ‘Box on Box’ 100E, with some American Influence Obvious with Rear Fins and the Reverse Sloping Rear Window which was said to be Influenced by the Design of the 1958 Lincoln Continental. Mechanically the 105E Featured the New Inline Overhead Valve Four Cylinder Engine which Replaced the Previous Side Valve Engine.

The 105E Anglia was Extremely Successful with Almost 200,000 vehicles being Produced in the First Year. It Clearly Ticked All the Right Boxes, being a Four Seater, Modern (for the time) Styling, a New More Powerful and More Fuel Efficient Engine and Obviously an Affordable Price Tag.
