BJ7 WITH MECHANICAL UPGRADES

Introduced in June 1962, the 3000 MkIIA (BJ7) marked the introduction of both wind up windows and a one touch hood to the Healey range. Luxury features intended to allow the Healey compete with it’s American counterparts for the ever important export market. With a total build number of 6,113, the BJ7 accounts for less than 8.5% of the total Austin Healey production!

With a total build number of 6113 BJ7’s, this Old English White example presents very well, complimented by the Red leather interior with matching carpets and sparkling brightwork, highlighted by 72 spoke chrome wire wheels and flip top fuel filler. The weather equipment includes a soft top hood and cover as well as a tonneau cover in Black cloth. The cockpit features a period style Moto-Lita steering wheel, gear lever Overdrive switch and a Smiths Heater. The Headlights have been upgraded to H4 Halogen and a rear indicator conversion has been done.

The Healey has benefited from a number of mechanical upgrades which improve the performance, reliability and ease of service. Under bonnet improvements include Twin 2” SU carburettors with airbox, extractors, side exhaust, Scorcher electronic ignition, spin-on oil filter conversion, aluminium radiator, and a multi-blade cooling fan. Underside improvements that vastly improve the ride quality, road holding and safety are from the telescopic shock absorber (Koni) conversion front & rear and the Volvo 4 piston front callipers combined with ventilated front discs.

This BJ7 drives exceptionally well resulting in a lovely road touring Healey which is ready to find a new enthusiastic owner, who’ll take it on its next adventure, whether that be a weekend getaway, an interstate holiday or a jaunt through the country side.
