MGA, A NEW BREED OF SPORTS CAR

Launched in 1955, the MGA marked a big change for the MG Car Company, while still being built as a body on chassis, it was the first MG Sports Car to move away from the Traditional “Square Rigged” MG. Renowned for it’s beautiful, flowing lines, the MGA is Still Today Regarded as One of Britain’s Most Iconic Sports Cars, True to the Classic Formula of Classic Sports Car Motoring – 2 Seats, Open Top, Spirited Engine, Good Brakes and Steering in a Lightweight, Aerodynamic Body.

The MGA was the First MG to be Built with the Body to be Made Entirely from Pressed Steel Panels Welded Together, Resulting in a Significantly Stronger and Stiffer Body Unit, Unlike the Earlier MG’s (TC,TD,TF etc) with their Combinations of Steel and Wood. The Stylish MGA was Exceptionally Popular with Approximately 101,000 MGAs built between 1955 and 1962.

This MGA 1600 Presents Well with its slightly older, Carnation Red Coachwork set off by the Gleaming Chrome and Stainless Steel Mesh Grille adding a Sporty note along with its Silver, Painted Wire Wheels. The Cockpit has been Retrimmed, with Black carpets and Seats, contrasted by Red Piping, while also featuring an adjustable steering column with a Wood Rimmed steering wheel and a Heater for those lovely Autumn mornings.

The 1588cc Four Cylinder Engine is very Strong and Responsive, Coupled to the Precise Four Speed Gearbox Provides Lovely Period Performance, Propelling the Lightweight and Nimble MGA up to the Speed Limit, and Above. There has been the addition of an Electronic Ignition and a later, MGB, Radiator to provide additional reliability.
