5-SPEED BLUEY BUGEYE

Released in 1958 to rave reviews the all new Austin Healey Sprite was an immediate success, with its spritely performance and precise handling, selling 48,987 units in their 3 year production run. Sprites were very successful in all levels of motorsport and chalked class wins at Sebring, the Alpine Rally and many more, including 12th outright at LeMans in 1965.

Of the 894 MkI sprites built in Australia at the BMC assembly plant this blue Sprite is number 701, a late example to come out of the Enfield plant and was sold by Larke Hoskins in Sydney.

Fitted with the highly desirable combination of a 1275cc A-Series engine with a Delorto DHLA40 G carburettor, matched with a 5-speed Ford Type-9 gearbox, the Sprite also features sensible upgrades including front disc brakes, a front anti-roll bar, an extractor exhaust system, electronic ignition, thermatic fan and an oil cooler. All of which ensures that the engine runs sweetly and that the Bugeye stops & handles well.

The interior is complimented by a period style sports steering wheel, GPS speedometer, heated seats, USB and 12 volt power outlets and is protected by a full set of weather equipment, including a black vinyl soft top with side curtains a tonneau cover as well as a white bikini top.

This little Bugeye is superb fun to drive, and ready to be used on club events, touring the countryside or a fun trip to your favourite coffee shop.
