Released in 1958 to Rave Reviews the All New Austin Healey Sprite was an Immediate Success, with its Spritely Performance and Precise Handling, Selling 48,987 Units in their 3 Year Production Run. Sprites were very Successful in all levels of Motor sport and chalked class wins at Sebring, the Alpine Rally and many more, including 12th outright at Le Mans in 1965.

This Sprite is car number 1361, making it the 860th out of the 894 MkI Sprites built in Australia at BMC’s Sydney assembly plant, a very late Example and Still Retaining it’s Original Factory Steel Bonnet, this Cheeky MkI Sprite Presents a Fantastic Opportunity to Own and Enjoy a Charismatic and Iconic British Sportscar.

In 2021 this Austin Healey underwent a Full Bare Metal Repaint, supported by a Complete Photographic Record, in Gleaming Monza Red, which suits these Charming Little cars so well. At the same time the Sprite was fully Retrimmed in Black with contrasting White piping and a level of Refinement added by being fully Sound Deadened before the Trim was fitted. The Interior is Complimented by a Period style Sports Steering Wheel & Pianola Radio, 12 Volt Power Outlet and is Protected by a Full Set of Weather Equipment, including a Black Vinyl Soft Top with Side Curtains and a Tonneau Cover.

Fitted with the Highly Desirable Combination of a 1275cc A-Series Engine and 4 Speed All Synchro Nissan Gearbox, the Sprite also features Sensible Upgrades including, a 45DCOE Weber Carburettor, Servo-Assisted Front Disc Brakes, a Front Anti-Roll Bar, an Extractor Exhaust System, an Alternator, 6 Blade Cooling Fan and Spin-On Oil Filter to ensure that the Engine Runs Sweetly, Stops & Handles Well and most Importantly runs Reliably.
