The 3000 MkI was the First Austin Healey to use the New 3 Litre Version of the BMC ‘C’ Series Engine (2912cc), with its Increased Capacity, 12 Port Cylinder Head Design and Front Disc Brakes, the Performance of the 3000 was Noticeably Superior to its Predecessor, the 100/6 with it’s 2639cc Engine and Four Wheel Drum Brakes.

This 3000 MkI BT7, Finished in Silver Blue, was Driven Off the Production Line in June of 1960 and Near 60 Years Later Looks Sharp, with Sparkling Chrome Wire Wheels and Lovely Brightwork.

The Dark Blue Interior has been re-trimmed at some point, and now presents with a lovely honest patina to the Dark Blue Leather Seats highlighted with Period Style White Piping, with the only Non-Original feature being a Period Correct Moto-Lita Woodrim Steering Wheel.

For the inclement weather this BT7 is fitted with an Original Smiths Heater, as well as having a Dark Blue Soft-Top with Side Curtains, and a Tonneau Cover stowed for when the occasion demands them.

Mechanical Upgrades Include: Electronic Distributor and Ignition for More Reliable and Better Ignition Performance, a Texas Cooler Fan to Improve Engine Cooling, a Koni Shock Absorber Kit Fitted to the Front Suspension to provide Improved Roadholding and Twin 2” SU Carburettors to Increase the Engines Breathing Capacity.

The BT7 Drives Well with Excellent Period Performance from the 3 Litre Six Cylinder Engine. If you Appreciate the Idea of Classic Motoring, and are looking for a Driver’s Healey with some Minor Improvements which Enhance Performance, Reliability and Usability, then this Healey Ticks the Boxes.
