IRIS BLUE 1600 WITH UPRATED 5 SPEED GEARBOX

Launched in 1955 the MGA is undoubtedly one of MG’s prettiest cars, and was able to take MG’s sporting range into a new era, following the “T” Series with their pre-war inspired “Running Board” styling. Based on a newly designed “Massively Rigid” chassis fitted with TF suspension and steering, the 1600 benefits from a slightly larger engine claimed to produce 79.5 bhp to enhance driving pleasure and performance and front disc brakes for peace of mind.

Finished in ‘Iris Blue’ this restored MGA has huge eye appeal, with 60 spoke Chrome wire wheels complemented by the lovely brightwork, including twin driving lamps and badge bar, the only deviation externally is the fitment of a body coloured third brake light, from an MG RV8.

The MGA’s cockpit is finished in Dark Blue leather, with Light Blue piping, accented by the body matched dash board and Dark Blue carpets, and features a restored, original 4 spoke ‘Banjo’ steering wheel, tinted perspex sun visors, clear perspex wind deflectors and a wired in ‘CTEK’ battery charger. The included weather equipment consists of a full tonneau cover, side screens and hood, all in fabric and in excellent condition.

Mechanically the MGA has been sensibly uprated, all with the focus of reliability and driveability. This includes: fitment of a Ford Type-9 5 speed manual gearbox, electronic ignition, a spin on oil filter, an alternator as well as an alloy radiator fitted with a ‘Revotec’ thermatic fan.

A superbly presented MGA with added performance and reliability, this 1600 will encourage old and young to get behind the wheel and go for an adventure.
