HEALEY BLUE, EARLY SIX CYLINDER – 3 LITRE, DISC BRAKE

Replacing the original Austin Healey 100, the 100/6 was introduced in August 1956, the new 2.6L 6 cylinder Healey featured 2+2 seating aided by its longer wheelbase, a rearward hinged bonnet as well as an external fuel filler and door handles.

This Austin Healey 100/6, was built in Abingdon from 19-26 March 1958 and was exported to Los Angeles, California, U.S.A, confirmed by the accompanying Heritage Certificate, specifying colour of Healey Blue, Blue trim, Disc wheels, Heater and Non-Overdrive.

Making its way to Australia, this Healey was sold by The Healey Factory in 1992 as a restoration project, which was undertaken by the owner, who improved the mechanical package by upgrading the block to the larger 2912cc capacity, fitted Overdrive and front disc brakes (from a 3000 MkI), while chrome wire wheels replaced the factory disc wheels and indicator conversion improved the original reflectors. The BN4 also benefits from a lightweight fan and side exhaust and in 2023 the Healey was given a thorough service including fitment of a new clutch.

The BN4 was held until 2005, then enjoyed in restored condition by its next custodian for 18 years before changing hands once again in 2023.

Presenting in its original (and the most desireable) colour of Healey Blue with contrasting flash in Old English White, accented by sparkling brightwork, Lucas driving lamps (not wired) and flip top filler, the BN4 is complemented by a Dark Blue leather interior matched with a period 3-spoke wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, whilst the weather equipment is complete, consisting of a Black soft-top and Blue tonneau cover both finished in vinyl, with removable sliding perspex side screens.

This BN4 delivers period British sports car performance, with its smooth and flexible 6 cylinder engine coupled to the 4 speed gearbox with electronic Overdrive providing excellent long-legged cruising, with the opportunity to further personalise to suit your requirements.
