AUS DELIVERED 4 SPEED 100

The Austin Healey 100 was released in 1952 at The Earl’s Court Motor Show and became an almost instant success with its stunning smooth curves styled by Gerry Coker and its genuine 100MPH performance. The styling was a huge advance from the Classic ‘Square Rigger’ inspired MG’s and Morgans of the period.

This 1955 BN1 was delivered new in Sydney and subsequently found its way to Melbourne in the late fifties where it has enjoyed long term ownership by a small number of owners, and held since 2006 by its most recent custodian.

Finished in Red showing an authentic patina matte-finish in places, the Healey is complemented by Black interior trim, highlighted with Red piping, rubber floor mats and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The weather equipment consists of a Black vinyl tonneau cover with matching soft top hood and side-curtains. A history file with mechanical invoices accompanies the BN1.

The 100/4 has been upgraded with a later, BN2 gearbox with overdrive whilst the under bonnet is in very much standard specification with some sensible upgrades including a pair of 1¾” SU carburettors, extractors and an alloy rocker cover.

The BN1 delivers strong period performance with its legendary long stroke 4 cylinder engine coupled to the 4-speed gearbox with overdrive providing excellent long-legged cruising ability and flexibility. The Healey is equally at home cruising the open road or winding its way through the hills and will deliver loads of driver satisfaction.
