A CLASSIC RED ROADSTER
The Austin Healey 100, Released in 1952, became an Instant Success with its Stylish Lines, Sketched by Gerry Coker, these Lines Remained the Styling Basis for Big Healeys Until Production Ceased in 1967. To many Enthusiasts the Original Austin Healey 100, Powered by the 2660cc Austin 4 Cylinder Engine Remains the Purest of Donald Healey’s Creations.
After being built at the Austin plant in Longbridge on the 6th of April 1955 this BN1 was delivered to its first owner in Germany. From Germany, it made its way to the United States and was eventually imported into Australia by the Healey Factory in 1989.
Finished in Gleaming Red, this BN1 has Large Eye Appeal, with it’s Lovely Brightwork Accented by the 72 Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels, while the Interior is Smart in Red Leather with Black Piping, Highlighted by a period style Wood Rim MotoLita Steering Wheel. The Weather Equipment Consists of a Black Tonneau Cover, a Soft Top and Side Screens with Storage Bag, all in Black Vinyl.
Under bonnet Improvements include Twin 1¾” SU Carburettors with Lynx Ram-Flo Air-Filters, Chrome Rocker Cover, Electronic Distributor, Spin-On Oil Filter Conversion and a Hi-Torque Starter Motor for Easy and Reliable Starting.
This BN1 Delivers Good Period Performance, with its Long Stroke 4 Cylinder Engine Coupled to the 3 Speed All Synchro-Mesh Gearbox with Over-Drive Providing Excellent, Long-Legged Cruising Ability and Flexibility. The Healey is Equally at Home Cruising the Open Road or Winding its way through the Hills and will produce an Ear to Ear Grin.
