The Packard is one of the icons of high quality luxury cars in an era of American Motoring where companies competed with each other to create engineering masterpieces. The cars have a very prestigious name in motoring history as the famous Packard engineering was ahead of its time.

This restored 1937 Super 8 is one of ~200 built in right hand drive, and was sold by the English Packard Distributor, Leonard Williams Ltd Co. London on 1 December 1937. The United States Embassy and the U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain, Joseph Kennedy (father of JFK) is believed to have used the Packard as a staff car in his official capacity.

This saloon, Style 1003 and body no. 1031, finished in Berkshire Green contrasted with brilliant Brightwork, was optioned with a centre foglight, chrome French Marchal Aerolux headlights, RCA radio, trafficator semaphore turn signals and a trunk rack. The luxurious matching velvet interior features vases and a footrest for rear seat passengers.

The Packard is powered by a 320 cubic inch, 9 bearing straight eight engine with a claimed 135 hp @ 3,200 rpm. The 3-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on 2nd & 3rd is paired with a floor-mounted gear lever. The independent front suspension gives a magnificent ride and great comfort. The Super Eight was noted as a superb sustained cruiser with effortless low speed acceleration, driven by its smooth and consistent torque.

This rare Super Eight Saloon, in restored condition is running well, and ready for you to use and enjoy and is perfect for comfortable weekend touring with emphasised comfort and decadent passenger luxury and space.
