SUPERBLY RESTORED GUARDS RED AIR-COOLED COUPE

Australian delivered and sold by Hamiltons of South Yarra, new in May 1978 this Porsche 911 SC was originally fitted with a Sportomatic transmission, factory air-conditioning, electric sunroof, and electric windows and mirrors.

Purchased and subsequently comprehensively restored in the late 1980/90’s by the well renowned Charlie Battisti, this SC was painted by Charlie himself, during which time the body was stripped to a bare metal shell. After repainting the entire body on a rotisserie, all new door/window seals as well as body gaskets were fitted, the trim was completed by Garry Blackman, in Black leather and the Sportomatic transmission was replaced by a ‘Type 915’, 5-speed manual by George Cairns.

With only ~165,000 km on the odometer, the SC is a low mileage example for its 47 years on the road, being used sparingly by the most recent, rural Victorian owner since 2018.

The file accompanying this Porsche contains a replacement service book, dated October 1983, stamped by ‘Hamiltons of South Yarra’, showing servicing from April 1980 (at 25,898km) onward, with the most recent service completed by Porsche specialist ‘Auto Coupe’ in September 2025 (at 161,694km).
