The Triumph TR6 was the final incarnation of the iconic “hairy chested” TR range prior to the wedge shaped TR7 coupe in 1974. Powered by a 2.5 litre straight six fitted with either Lucas mechanical fuel injection, producing 124/150 BHP or twin stromberg carburettors, producing 104 BHP, the performance of the TR6 was excellent, with a top speed of 120 MPH.

Produced for 8 years from 1968 – 1976, The TR6 was at the time, Triumph’s best selling model from the TR line up, with a total production of 91,850 built, split 13,912 injected and 77,938 carburettored.

This TR6 is finished in the original colour of Sapphire Blue with Tan vinyl trim and cloth soft top hood with Black tonneau cover. Mechanical improvements include a stainless steel sports exhaust, Bosch fuel pump and uprated alternator with its last service completed in March 2025 by Caulfield Jag, who have regularly maintained the Triumph since it’s last sale in August 2014 (just 14,620 miles ago).

Being a ‘CP’ code TR6, this example is fitted with the 150BHP, top specification, 2.5L six cylinder fuel injected engine, coupled to the smooth selecting 4 speed gearbox with optional overdrive.

The rack and pinion steering is light and precise, directing the TR6 wherever you please, with the independent suspension at both the front and rear providing a smoother more compliant ride than other cars of the period with live rear axles, allowing for comfortable touring.

The power assisted front disc brakes provide consistent and reliable stopping power, an ideal combination offering a real driving pleasure, whether it be cruising the highways or winding your way through the hills.
