From Mont Carlo to Bathurst, Alex Issigonis’ revolutionary Mini has always punched above its weight. In Cooper ‘S’ form, the reliable passenger car became an affordable, practical sports sedan, that could be driven from the School drop off to the track.

This genuine Australian MkI, with matching numbers, is finished in the iconic, White and British Racing Green colour combination, with the interior having been re-trimmed in an attractive light green with contrasting green carpets, all in excellent condition. The ‘S’ was well restored to largely original condition around 20 years ago and as such presents very well inside and out.

The Australian Mk I Cooper S’s production volume was 4,986 and these Mini’s featured external door hinges, wind up windows, stainless steel overriders and corner ‘nerf bars’ on the front and rear bumpers as well as steel 4.5” x 10” wheels with 9 ventilation holes, differentiating them from their English stablemates.

Truly comfortable even for those over 6 foot, this mini drives exceptionally well and the free revving 1275cc 4 cylinder’s exhaust provides a captivating listening experience.
