AUSTRALIAN COOPER S
After the 1959 Debut of the Revolutionary, Morris Mini-Minor, it was just a Short 2 Years before John Cooper Introduced to the World, the First Mini “Cooper”, with the “S” following a Further 2 Years Later, in 1963. September 1965 Marked the Introduction of Australia’s own Cooper S, Imported by BMC in CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Form, and Assembled Using Local Components to Our very own Specification.
This Australian 1967 Cooper S MkI presents well in Dark Green Metallic coachwork with a White roof and bonnet stripes. The interior is in Grey Vinyl, with the Seats featuring Grey Embossed Fabric Inserts. The Cockpit is Delightfully Standard in presentation apart from a Pioneer Stereo/CD system and a Period Style 13″ Wood Rim Steering Wheel.
Sometime during its life this Mini appears to have had a Full Restoration including the common practice in the 80’s and 90’s of a re-shell into a Rust Free Body Shell. The File Accompanying the Cooper S shows that it has had some Significant Mechanical Refurbishment including a Gearbox Rebuild, Cylinder Head Reconditioning, Brake and Clutch rebuild, RC40 Exhaust System as well the addition of a Fully Adjustable Suspension Upgrade.
With all this work, the Cooper S Drives Very Well, with Good Power and the Nimble Road Performance that Mini’s are Known For. A True Classic of the Period, which is Still Able to put a Real Smile on the Face of those who Remember Them, as well as Those Embarking on a New Classic Experience.
