Introduced in 1962, Daimler took the Already Successful Jaguar Mk2 Platform, and Fitted it with Their 2.5L V8 Producing 142 BHP, from the Daimler SP250 Dart. The New Daimler 250 was a 4 Door Saloon Capable of Cruising up to Speeds in Excess of 110mph and was, at the time, Daimler’s Most Successful Model, with Production Finishing in 1969 after a Run of Almost 18,000 Cars.

Being one of the Later Examples, leaving the Browns Lane Factory in 1967, this Daimler 250 was despatched new to ‘Daimler Distributors’ in Leeds, Yorkshire. Making its way to Australia within the following 24 years, the Daimler 250 is believed to have stayed in Melbourne ever since.

The Daimler 250 V8 conveys an Aire of Classic British Elegance with its Beautifully Re-trimmed Burgundy Cockpit Featuring the Classically Styled Burr Walnut Veneer Dash, Matching Door Cappings and Surrounds. The Instrument Panel of course contains the classic large black faced Smiths Tachometer and Speedometer mounted directly in front of the driver whilst the auxiliary gauges and switches are centrally mounted in the dash with the period correct Moto-Lita Wood rim Steering Wheel adding to the classic look.

The 2.5 Litre V8 engine in this Daimler is predictably smooth, while providing a subtle but very enjoyable V8 exhaust note. The Borg Warner automatic transmission coupled to the 2.5 litre V8 engine and the Power Assisted 4 Wheels Disc Brakes make this Daimler very Comfortable to Drive.
