RARE, LUXURY MINI VARIANT, 1275cc AND A REAL BOOT

After the 1959 Debut of the Revolutionary, Morris Mini-Minor took the world by storm, it was not long before the popularity spawned many Different Models to target other markets, two of these being the very similar Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet. These were launched in 1961 as more Luxurious version of the Mini, which along with its additional Chrome accents, more Luxurious Interior with a Wood Veneer Dash and additional trim, the longer, slightly Finned rear wings give the Elf and Hornet a Proper Boot and a more conventional “3 box” design.

This 1964 Riley Elf MkII presents well in Arianca Beige Coachwork with a Pale Ivory Roof, Cooper S style flared wheel arches and slightly wider wheels. The level of Interior Trim in the Riley far Exceeded that of the quite basic Austin or Morris Mini, this interior is trimmed in Cardinal Red Leather that appears to be Original with Lovely Patination, while the Wood veneer Dash sports a glove Box on each side and similar Instruments to a Cooper or Cooper S. The interior also sports a Factory Heater/Demister, Tachometer, Seat Belts and much needed, Accessory Power Ports.

Under the bonnet, the Riley now has an upgraded 1275 Engine/Gearbox from a Mini 1275LS, which also gives Synchromesh on all 4 gears and a Remote Gear Change. This Elf also has twin HS4 SU Carburettors, LCB Exhaust Manifold, an Oil Cooler, Alternator, Alloy Rocker Cover and Servo Assisted Disc Brakes on the Front.

As you would expect, the Riley Elf Drives Very Well, with Good Power and the Nimble Road Performance and a True and Rare Classic of the Period, which will Still put a Real Smile on your Face.
