EX-CONCOURS WINNER WITH EXTRA OOMPH!

Introduced Not as a Production Model, but as a 1600 MGA Optioned with ‘Competition Suspension’ Including Four Wheel Dunlop Disc Brakes, and Steel Centre Lock Wheels the ‘Deluxe’ was Built on the Twin Cam MGA Chassis with the Standard 1600 Body. Of the MGA’s Total 101,081 Production Run, Just 313 were Built as 1600 MkII Fitted with the Competition Suspension Option – the MGA MkII Deluxe.

Imported into Australia in 1997 After Originally being Delivered to the US, the Deluxe was in Need of a Comprehensive Restoration. After being Sold Some 9 Years After Arriving in Australia, the Stalled Project was Undertaken by a Very Well Respected MG Enthusiast who Completed the Restoration to a Concours Level.

Photographic Records were Kept of the Restoration Process, with the Finished Product Hitting the Road in August of 2007. The Workmanship and Attention to Detail have Allowed the MkII Deluxe to Present Spectacularly Some 12 Years Later.

The Performance of this MGA has been Greatly Improved, the Fully Balanced Engine having been Uprated with a Wade Fast Road Camshaft, Electronic Ignition, Ported & Gas Flowed Head and Extractor Exhaust, with the Rebuilt Gearbox, Providing Precise Gear Selection Delivering Power to the Road Through a Quaiffe Limited Slip Differential.

To Compensate for the Uprated Mechanicals, the Deluxe has been Fitted with Twin Thermo-Fans to Aid in Cooling, while the Suspension has been Improved via a ½” Front Sway Bar, Rear Koni Shock Absorbers and Stiffer Suspension Bushes
