A FUN CLASSIC WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

Released in 1958 to rave reviews the all new Austin Healey Sprite was an immediate success, with its spritely performance and precise handling, selling 48,987 units in their 3 year production run. Sprites were very successful in all levels of motorsport and chalked class wins at Sebring, the Alpine Rally and many more, including 12th outright at LeMans in 1965.

Still retaining its highly desirable original factory steel bonnet, this MkI Bugeye presents well, finished in ‘Old English White’, riding on Superlite alloy wheels, complemented by a beautiful Blue interior re-trimmed by Tim Ward, featuring leather seats, new carpets and a period style Moto-Lita leather sports steering wheel, whilst a practical blue tonneau cover is included.

The Sprite is fitted with the preferable combination of a 1275cc A-series engine built by PowerPlay Automotive with a Ribcase gearbox and also features sensible upgrades including a 45DCOE13 Weber carburettor, Redline manifold, extractor exhaust system, MkIII Sprite Front Disc Brakes, Scorcher electronic ignition, 6-blade cooling fan, a thermatic fan and spin-on oil filter to ensure that the engine runs sweetly, stops & handles well and most importantly runs reliably.

Due to its diminutive size, weight and appropriate, uprated period performance, this British sports car is superb fun to drive, and is ready to be regularly used on club events, touring the countryside and exploring the local hills.
