Replacing the original Austin Healey 100, the 100/6 was introduced in August 1956, the new 6 cylinder Healey featured 2+2 seating aided by its longer wheelbase, as well as an external fuel filler and door handles.

This Austin Healey 100/6 was imported into Australia by ‘The Healey Factory’ in 1988 from Richmond Indiana USA as a restoration candidate. Finding its way to an enthusiast in 1995, the Healey’s restoration commenced straight away.

Stripped to a bare chassis, rust was removed, new metal installed, the body was repaired and repainted, the mechanicals installed, right hand drive components installed, the electricals re-wired, interior re-trimmed and a new set of 15×6” Dayton chrome wires fitted, finished in late 1998.

Finished in Porsche ‘Guards Red’ paintwork, with contrasting biscuit trim the cockpit features a 15” wood rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel and an impressive stereo system consisting of an Alpine headunit and a Tenvox amplifier. Stowed away the Healey is also equipped with a ‘Mercedes Cloth’ soft top and tonneau cover.

Mechanical improvements include, 3000 MkI front disc brake conversion including a power brake booster, hi-torque starter motor, spin on oil filter, alternator, un-leaded cylinder head conversion, increased compression to 10:1, a rear main lip seal conversion and Koni shock absorbers front & rear.

Supported by a thick history file containing invoices and restoration photos & documentation, this 100/6 has travelled just ~11,000 miles since restoration and provides strong period performance.
