he Austin Healey 100, Released in 1952 became an Instant Success with its Stylish Lines, Sketched by Gerry Coker, these Lines Remained the Styling Basis for Big Healeys Until Production Ceased in 1967. To many Enthusiasts the Original Austin Healey 100 Powered by the 2660cc Austin 4 Cylinder Engine Remains the Purest of Donald Healey’s Creations.

This Austin Healey 100 was Built in December 1954 before being Exported to Australia where it was Sold by Austin Distributors in Melbourne in July 1955, with GJG 870 being its First Registration Number. It was Retained by its Original Owner, Bob Foster, a Long Standing Member of the Austin Healey Owners Club for some 40+ Years Until his Passing. There are Few Healeys which have Remained with their Original Owners for Such a Lengthy Period, a Tribute to Bob’s Enthusiasm and Passion for his Healey.

Accompanying the Healey is a Large and Well Documented History File which Includes a Notebook in which Bob Recorded Details of All Things Pertaining to the Healey over a 40 Year Period. The File also Includes the Original Purchase Documentation from July 1955, the Original Registration Paperwork as well as the Original Number Plates.

This Beautiful BN1 Presents Well in its Original Colour of Spruce Green with Matching Green Interior and Green Hood as was Originally Fitted. The Healey is Very Much Still in Standard Configuration Under the Bonnet with Only a Spin-On Oil Filter Conversion having been Added for Ease of Servicing, while the Interior is also Standard, Apart from the Fitting of Full Harness type Seat Belts.

The Healey still sits on Original Size and Style Painted 48 Spoke Wire Wheels which are Fitted with 165/80R15 Radial Tyres, these Provide Light Steering as well as a Compliant Ride.

The Lusty, Long Stroke 4 Cylinder Engine, Mated to the 3 Speed, All-Synchro Gearbox with Overdrive Still Provides Excellent Period Performance as well as Long Legged, Economical High Speed Cruising Ability.
