IMPROVED 100/4, MELBOURNE DELIVERED

The Austin Healey 100, Released in 1952 became an Instant Success with its Stylish Lines, Sketched by Gerry Coker, Remaining the Styling Basis for all Big Healeys Until Production Ceased in 1967. To many Enthusiasts the Original Austin Healey 100 Powered by the 2660cc Austin 4 Cylinder Engine Remains the Purest of Donald Healey’s Creations.

This 1954 BN1 was Delivered New in Melbourne by Monaro Motors to David Dunn of Brighton, on 6th of May 1955. Presenting well in the Classic Duo-Tone of Blue/White with 72 Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels, the Interior has been finished in Dark Blue Leather, with modified, Deeper Seats featuring 100S Vented backs, providing Greater Support, while a Moto-Lita Wood-Rimmed Steering Wheel sits handsomely In Front of You. The Weather Equipment includes a Tonneau Cover, Soft Top Hood and Side Screens in Quality Dark Blue Fabric, with the Hood Frame having been Modified to make the Entire Hood Assembly Easily Removable, allowing Far Superior Comfort in the Cockpit.

The 100/4 has been Upgraded with a Later, BN2 Gearbox with Overdrive, and a Straight-Cut, Close Ratio Gearset, which Provides a Taller, Much More Useable First Gear. The Strong Engine has been: Bored 0.060” Oversize with Forged Pistons Increasing the Capacity to 2759cc, Balanced, fitted with a Lightened Flywheel as well as a Harmonic Balancer and features Twin 1¾” SU Carbs, Ceramic Coated Extractors with 2 1/2″ Side Pipe, and a Scorcher Distributor. While to Improve Cooling, a Texas Kooler Fan and Louvred Bonnet have been fitted.

The Brakes have been Improved with the Fitment of Power Assisted, Ventilated Front Discs with Volvo Calipers, and Ventilated Rear Drums and to Improve Handling there is a Heavy Duty Front Sway Bar. A New Aluminium Fuel Tank has been fitted to the BN1 and a Previously Fitted Braced Aluminium Roll Bar comes with the Healey should You Wish to Use it For Competition purposes.

This Healey has been well known in the AHOC Vic. for many years with the most recent owner enjoying using it enthusiastically in Club Level Motorsport such as Sprints and Hillclimbs.
