FOUR SEAT FERRARI

The Mondial (world car) was conceived as a ‘usable’ Ferrari when released, offering the practicality of four seats and the performance expected of a Ferrari. With Pinninfarina designed bodywork the Mondial was designed to provide rapid, luxurious transport for up to 4 people.

With the Quattrovalvole or QV, introduced in 1982, featured a new, 4 valve head, allegedly based on the early eighties Formula 1 engine and produced a respectable 240hp. When released the Mondial had a top speed of 230kmh and even today is still a desirable sports car from the world’s greatest specialist manufacturer.

This Mondial was delivered to its first custodian on 21 January 1983 by Modena Station Garage in East Horsley, England before making its way to Hong Kong around 1989 where it remained until being imported to Australia in 2002, retained in the most recent ownership since late 2015.

In late 2016, the body benefited from a comprehensive restoration, with rust repair, and a bare metal repaint in Standox ‘Blu Chiaro’ completed by Classic Auto Refinishing of Bayswater Vic, while Ferrari specialist ‘Black Stallion’ of Ringwood Vic undertook the required disassembly and re-build.

A comprehensive history file, including original books as well as invoices dating back to 1990 accompanies the Mondial, with the most recent service completed by ‘Hughes Supercar Services’ of Braeside Victoria, in March 2025 at 59,629 miles, including: replacement of timing belts, engine & gearbox oil, coolant, an engine tune, replacement of the coolant expansion tank, a brake fluid flush & bleed and a Victorian Roadworthy Certificate sign off.
